Some of you have had some questions…
As you know (if you read the homepage), this site is not yet finished. I know what most of you have come here for. You’re looking for a black version of Stuff White People Like. I love that site, but sorry, can’t help you. That could end up being the second coming of “Hot Ghetto Mess”. In addition, I know that because of Stuff White People Like, a lot of non-Blacks will be visiting this page. I’m not about to just give you a list of stereotypes, cause you’re already familiar with those. I’ve asked around…SWPL hasn’t caught in Black circles outside of people who are really into the internet, black bloggers, and black people with white friends who are into blogs. LOL (I know that’s a generalization, but…that’s what people expect me to write so it’s ok)
This site will give you some information on cultural phenomenon in the African American community. It will also showcase artists, websites, writers, blogs, and trends that black people are into online. Hopefully, you’ll find something you like.
This is about L O V E…positivity, celebration, and uplifting my people.

If you’re looking for other topics, I would love to hear your Thoughts on Denzel Washington, black men and their fear of hospitals, Comedians, and poetry. Keep up the great work!

One of my friends sat down to make a list of ‘Stuff Black People Like’ in the same vein as SWPL … she started off laughing, throwing all kinds of stereotypes … and then after she had about half a page she stopped laughing. “What would be funny about this?” she asked, saying exactly what you said, that everyone’s already familiar with the stereotypes. Then she started making a list that would be funny because it would be full of things people weren’t supposed to expect from black folks: black people love … opera … speaking Italian … playing the violin … whatever. And that list upset her, too, when she tried to figure out what would be funny in implying that black people didn’t like any of those things. And then she gave up.
I like your idea here. Other topics? Maybe the extravagantly beautiful hats ladies wear to church. And, of course, our mothers.

I would like to say that I like your blog. There are a lot of “black blogs” out there but each one is not all that interesting to read. Yours is one of the exceptions. It feels fresh when I look at your stuff.

sites cool and all but why are we bashing white people on the same site we’re promoting love and positivity? I mean its funny but i feel like it might be causing more harm then good.

WOW!….I’ve really enjoyed your blog! I almost passed it up because I thought it would be a bunch of stereotypes, just like “What White People Like.” As a previous poster said, what would be funny about rehashing stereotypes we’re already familiar with??? I’m so thankful your blog is not like the “white people” blog at all. Keep up the good work!
