Here is the top 5 list of Red Beverages Black people are fond of.
- “Red” Kool-Aid - Fruit Punch, Cherry, Strawberry
- Red Wine
- Hawaiian Punch
- Big Red
- Cranberry Juice
I can remember time and time again, being down south in soul food restaurants and bar-b-que spots and hearing people just ask for “Red” as their beverage. “Red” Kool-Aid and Church Punch (Sweet Tea) are black family reunion/cookout staples. I really can’t say were the affinity for red drinks comes from. Maybe it come from drinking communion wine sunday after sunday…a reminder of blood salvation. Maybe it’s the fire in our spirits.
LOL Honestly…I think it all begins with “Red” Kool-Aid. That’s where I lay the blame.

You forgot Strawberry soda! How could you leave out strawberry soda? That is a black people staple right there - it could be its own food group.

When I was little I used to love Tahitian Treat. Dont know if that’s an upstate ny thing or not… but its like Hawaiian Punch but carbonated. Like a fruit punch pop. Now I tend to only drink Kettle one vodka or vitamin water.
